history vrouwesteeg in gouda:
the former onze-lieve-vrouwekerk on the corner of this alley and the nieuwe-haven, which except for the tower was demolished in 1585. in 1754 the foundations of the tower had to be strengthened and buttresses were added to prevent further subsidence. the spire was also straightened again. by 1957, the structural condition of the spire had deteriorated to such an extent that it had to be removed. it took five years before a new spire, a copy of the old one, could be placed on the tower. the clock in the tower dates from 1590 and was made for st. john's church by utrecht bell-founder thomas both. via the potterspoort, the bell entered the vrouwetoren in 1683.

first floor:
entrance, with space at the front for a wardrobe, the meter cupboard (3 groups with 2 earth leakage switches), the intergas central heating combi boiler and the washing machine connection.

the alcove bathroom (renewed in 2023) is fully tiled and equipped with walk-in shower, toilet and washbasin. next to the bathroom is the staircase to the second floor.

at the rear of the first floor is the bedroom located. under the stairs is a convenient closet created and through the door is the (sunny) patio accessible.

1st floor:
open living floor equipped with a beautiful laminate flooring with wide planks. the living room is at the front and

of the lady church.
